Making this bread is simple and in a few simple and short steps, you'll have the house smelling of a bread that you won't be able to keep your hands off once it comes out of the oven. Not only is this a great way to use up your overripe bananas, but this also makes a great gift to friends and family. Wrapped in foil, it can keep up to 3 months in the freezer.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 cup of sour cream
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 3 bananas, mashed (1 cup mashed banana)
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Directions:
1. Pre-heat the oven to 350°F .
2. Grease and flour a 8 1/2-inch x 4 1/2-inch loaf pan or use a baking spraysour cream3. In a large bowl, blend together the flour, salt, sugar, baking soda and salt. Mix in the butter, bananas, eggs, vanilla extract and .
4. Stir in the chocolate chips (do not over mix!) and pour into the prepared pan.
5. Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 70-80 minutes.

Oh wow, this bread looks delicious! I love banana bread, and combined with chocolate, yum! Thanks for sharing at Showcase Your Talent Thursday. I hope to see you at the next party!
ReplyDeleteI went to make this tonight, but then I realized that while butter is on the ingredient list, its nowhere in the directions. But oil is listed in the directions, but not in the ingredient list. I'm confused.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for pointing that out. Butter is the true ingredient here and while some breads e.g. Pumpkin Bread use oil, it's best to use butter for this one. Hope you'll stop by again as a regular reader!
DeleteYour bread looks delicious , Eva! Thanks for sharing and linking back to Foodie Friends Friday!
