Puppy Dog Cupcakes

It's no secret that we are a huge dog family. Up until July, we had 3 dogs, an American Staffordshire, a Maltese and a Yorkie. When my mom moved in with us, we added her dog, Fox Terrier. You could say we're a bit busy but when you enter our house, once the boys have created you, it's calm and you don't even notice them around. They don't jump on you or bark alot, just if they are curious of a sound they might not be familiar with. She loves her furry friends and calls them her best friends. When she's not terrorizing them she will cuddle them and often uses our Am Staff as a big pillow for naps.

For my daughter's 3rd birthday party, I came up with a doggie theme. I browsed through pinterest and found some great ideas but there weren't any directions behind them. Then I found ones that were so cute and had been repinned hundreds of times but again no directions. I looked at them and instantly knew how to replicate.

Aren't they the cutest cupcakes EVER? They were a huge hit and the kids got a kick out of them along with the parents.

to make them yourself, here is what you need:

  • Your favorite cupcake batter
  • Cupcake liners
  • Chocolate & Vanilla frosting
  • Vanilla Waffers
  • Nutter Butter cookies
  • M & M's for the nose
  • Marshmellows for the eyes
  • Colored gel for the eye and mouth
To assemble them, let the cupcakes cool, add generous frosting on the top. This will ensure that the ears stick properly. After putting on the ears, add the Vanilla waffers and marshmellows and M&M. Finish off with two dots for the eyes and a nice smile for the mouth. They are fun to make with kids and you'll smile while making your "litter".
